Gti6 Phase 1 Cam Pulleys

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to adjust my cam timing, as was thinking about using the phase 1 cam pulleys does anyone have any experience with theses. I'm only thinking of changing for easiness. I've heard that some have failed. Any input would be great.

Do you have the later single bolt type on there are the moment? you can still alter the timing with these as well.

Yes I have the later single bolt, I'm aware they can be adjusted, I was looking to use the earlier ones for easier adjustment.

I wouldn't say they are easier to adjust at all.

If you use them be careful when tightening the bolts as I'vebroken one across all 3 bolt holes

The 3 bolt type I do find easier over the later one's, But as said do not do the bolts up to tight or check for them being over tightened in the past,

They work well if looked after, the set I have have cover 280k without any issue's and no one can beat that

I had the similar type on my saxo vts, I take it the phase 1 pulley will bolt straight onto any phase cams?

yes, though you will need to trim the ribs on the inside of the later belt cover to clear the bolts.
