Front Lucas Brake Slider Bolts

Recommended Posts

farmer

Does anybody know who has a good quality kit for sale?

Pug have discontionuted the slider bolt kit and have cross referenced it over to the caliper yoke and that's back ordered till April, so you can assume that's NFP to.

Tried a brakeparts.co.uk kit but the bolt was no good so can rule them out.

Cheers.

Err... presumably Lucas and Girling are one and the same aren't they?

Have you seen my thread from earlier today?? Here... Where I pointed out the state of the Peugeot supplies??

What was wrong with the bolt in the brakeparts kit?

Not read the thread yet.

The bolt wasn't wide enough.

I have just looked abroad theres plenty of slider bolt kits there so can make enquires.

The caliper yoke will never arrive in stock it's as good as NFP

It's just a bolt, not brain surgery. Figure out what thread and length it is, then go to a fastener supplier and get a few. I'd expect them to be high tensile - 10.9 at least.

There's a rubber sleave on them and its just not a standard bolt if you look at them to be fair.

Oh, OK - sorry. Got a pic? Is it the slider for the caliper, too? Sounds like it might be similar to the ones on the front calipers of my old Saab 900 - and probably a stack of other stuff.

Don't know if you can make it out from this one I found in my photobucket account from when I stripped the caliper three years ago!

The one without the rubber sleeve has flattened sides.

Was it this part that was too narrow in the kit you got??

Edit to say... Actually looking at that pic, they certainly don't LOOK worn do they??

Last night in our workshop we tried the the slider bolts in a yoke and they were slack as hell totally wrong size.

The orginal bolts went in but had a slight bit of play, which under force would be quite large

I have looked on Pyrex with the orginal part number and there's a few foreign dealers with the old kit in stock going to buy a kit next week.
