Diesel Starter

Hi. Can anyone tell me if a berlingo diesel starter will fit my mi16 205? VALEO PART LRS00751

Looking at the list of cars that starter will fit it should do.

 

The application list I found includes the 205 1.8 D & TD so it ought to be a direct fit.

Depends if you have a 1.9 or a 2.0, if a 1.9 then no issues, but a 2.0 requires a specific starter with the solenoid at the front of the unit not above due to the bulk of the ACAV inlet.

 

Also they dont spin the engine quite as fast due to being geared down but will kick them over with a fair amount of torque, some variants are more powerful though.

Got the starter and it fitted no problem, turns over much faster than the original starter (that was probably knackered) and starts a treat now!
