Long Reach Dial Gauges For Gti6 Timing

hi all,

i need to buy a long reach dial gauge to adjust and check my cam timing, i current have a gauge but it cant reach to where i need it. Can anyone recommend one?

Use a welding rod or similar to make an extended pointer

i did think about that but thought it could cause inaccuracy.

Any suitabley sized metal bar of similar diameter to those with your dti should be fine or try to find a way to mount your dti in a position so the rods you have are long enough.

 

Mine has several different length rods with it.

I've just bought a extension rod so hopefully that will do the trick thanks for all the input
