The 205 Is Gone

Oh well, the relationship with the french mistress had to come to an end unfortunately due to my lack of time to cope with her temperament.

 

Shame really but having her sit on the driveway getting used once a month didn't make sense.

 

Better to let someone else enjoy the car, just don't let me go near another one again or even worse let me drive one (I've bought 4 205's so far one of which twice).

 

I think that's the end of 205s for me unfortunately

It all started 13 years ago with a 1.0 Trio Plus, my first car and dare I say as much fun (almost) as the GTi on the bends.

 

The lack of power taught me how to drive smoothly as you had to keep the momentum going in order to move.

 

There were hardly many cars that could catch it on the A339 during my daily commute.

 

The mods on it were a set of Monroe shocks and 1.6 GTi seats.

 

Looking at it again brings a tear on my eye.

 

Pugdamo, a 405 T16 4x4 is a beauty and would love to drive one but the problems are

- too rare

- potential money pit?

Was a worrying trying to get it started last night!

It starts like a tractor on 3 (or 2?) but Anthony said it made the trip back OK.

Started just about on 2 cylinders, did a backfire then struggled to life. Starting on 4 cylinders after about a minute or so
