dobby909 2 Posted February 16, 2013 Ok, i am new to the forum and this is my first post, and i need help i have just bought a 205 gti as a project car whilst i turn my track set up 106 into a useful "practicial" daily driver i started by doing a big brake upgrade to 307 callipers and disks, the passanger side went together no problem, but the drivers side DOES NOT FIT, sadly it was dark and i was tired so didnt take any useful pictures, but if the disk is on, and i try to bolt the calliper into place its as if the part of the strut that it bolts too needs 2-3mm machining off and the calliper pysically wont go on there. and yes the disk is mounted correctly and on tight. this has baffled me because the passanger side went together without a hitch the car was someone else's project and im wondering if there are variations on hubs and offsets? or whether im just incredibly unlucky and have just bought a car thats an odd one out. so any help or advice is greatly appreciated
pugpete1108 62 1 Cars Posted February 16, 2013 Could be different hubs. Maybe one is a 1.6 hub and the other is base model/1.9 one?
kyepan 291 Posted February 17, 2013 it should go on to 1.9 hubs like it came from the factory.... I agree, something is not right
