Aerial Removal

Recommended Posts

I've done a good search of the forums for this but still can't seem to sort it...

Basically the metal plate that connects the aerial to the base plate has corroded and snapped in half, I ordered a whole new peugeot baseplate but i'm buggered if I can get the old metal plate out (the bit that surrounds the aerial bolt the back bit has snapped off) - The advice i've found on here seems to be just to prise it out but it won't budge at all, can anyone advise on a decent way to get this thing out? I'm worried about doing further damage if I just keep trying to prise it off.

Have you removed the nut which holds the aerial lead from the stereo to the base inside the car & bolts through the roof panel?

To remove the base, take the interior light out & you should see a small (8mm iirc) nut with the lead (often pink) attached.

Remove the 8mm nut & then the base should easily lift out.
