205Gti Mi16 Rough Idle, Backfire, Stall, Intermittant?

Just over the moon my car is running from such a simple fix and wanted to put this up, may be old news but is new to me. I put it on aussiefrogs too so you all in this pickle could try it. hope it helps! James.

 

Have you poured countless dollars into your car with this bloody problem
with symptoms of intermittant rough idle, engine dying, cutting out,
backfiring, and it's making you pull your hair out because you've
chased air leaks, changed sensors, filters, pumps etc, etc.. e-bloody
cetera....



Try this one



The Bosh AFM Air Flow meter cover on the unit warps inwards with age, or
if they have been pressed on a few times in the middle from bieng
removed and installed a few times. This can impeed the swivel of
the dial inside as the black wire drags on the cover and prevents
movement as there is not much clearance.



With the cover off watch your meter whilst it runs, now move it a bit
and see how the car has a near instentaneous alteration and starts to
flutter.



Has your issue now been located! Does your "new car" now start and run
sweet as a nut with this cover off and all those "new unnecessary parts"
installed?!
