Err...a Little Help On First Start After Rebuild 1.6 8Valve

Recommended Posts

ALEX

I found the old pulley and offered it up to the one in the photo (after removing it from the car) and the holes align up to the hole I used, so it's not that,

Is there any way of removing these without chipping the back edge!?. It was mint, now it isnt' <_<

Anyway it's now back on after checking the timming belt again, going to try it again tomorrow when it's light, as I ran out of time today.

If not, still left to try is:

Compression test, I have a tester, but I'm deffenatley getting pressure so I'm not certain it's that.

SAD to test, there's a test in Haynes to try by connectiong it to a battery.

My mate has a Fuel pressure guage I can borrow to test the fuel pressure.

If not, I give up, and I'll get a mobile tuner out to see if they can help.

Are you sure the petrol you're trying to start on is OK/reasonably fresh?

At last It runs! :D

All I did was fix that frayed wire going to the AFM and adjusted the TPS (I'd had the throttle apart to send it for blasting) It was over fueling causing the plugs to soot up.

Needs tuning still and the exhaust manifold to downpipe gasket is blowing, but should be easy to sort..

I'm chuffed to bits nar ! :)

Thanks everyone for all your input on helping me on this!

I'll crack on with getting the roof and interior done, should have it done by Summer! B)
