Mix Match Of Tu's Best Combination?

Recommended Posts

Zacky-94

Hi , basicly i need to keep my block witch is a 1.1 block , 1.4 is the highest cc i can go any ideas at all ?

Was thinking maybe 1.4 pistons liners and crank in my 1100 block with a 106 1.6 rallye head i know the CR will be very low so will need work or domed pistons etc.

Apreciate any advice cheers

Are you able to change your fueling system? I would recommend a 106 1.3/1.6 Rallye head with the 106 1.3 Rallye inlet. Coupled with a fast road cam it should be relatively quick, not much torque though.

Out of interest, why do you need to keep your 1.1 block? Unless its for msa regs I would consider an alloy 1.3/1.4 block as that would be far easier, let alone cheaper than changing pistons etc.

All depends on your budget, the use of the car, and your own personal preference :)

Yes its for the msa regs , its basicly to start hillclimbing and i figured it would be a little more competitive with the standard block due tO the class id be put in

, i was thinking maybe getting a 1.4 block and vtr valves and having my head machined to take them? If that would work ,

Have a renault 5 gt turbo carb on it at the moment id either keep that on or switch to bike carbs , budgets not massive but im a technician so all the work will be carried out in my garage swaping heads/pisons etc. is no stress and free of labour lol

Not massivley educated in the tu engine in all fairness

you can put any 205 block in for hillclimbs and sprints, not just that fitted to the 205 variant.

I know of a Tu3S engine for sale up north :)

depends what class he wants to be.

roadgoing production allows modifications to the engine but it must be a type fitted to the 205.

modified production allows head swaps but the block must be original

You can't beat the simplicity of a carb'd tu engine and how responsive a carb engine is compared to injection.

I'd go for a tu3s 1360cc alloy block

Raise the compression with a hefty skim or 1.4 xsi pistons, head work if allowed and super unleaded fuel.

The saxo valves into your head will be far more trouble than it's worth.

Some good advice thanks what do you think it would run with a heavy skim, and some head work? 90?

With an xs carb headwork and a bigger jet you'd be looking at closer to 100bhp

I'd have a search and see other people's opinions on skimming the head but I know people have taken up to 1.0mm off but then it starts altering the timing.

Tu engines like any other NA engine respond well to a compression increase
