Another Stereo Wire Colour Question

When I picked up my 205 GTI it came with a supposedly standard stereo that hadn't been plumbed in yet, now I've discovered from research on this forum that this isn't the stereo it would have had at all but did come out of a 205 all be it not a GTI - I'd like to try and wire it up in the meantime until I can sort out an original but a previous owner seems to have had a pioneer unit in there and the wiring behind the stereo is all hacked about - I think I can figure out which wire does what back there without too many problems but I can't seem to find which does what at the stereos end.

 

Wiring is below, it's pretty obvious which is the power related stuff (or at least I think it is) however I can't figure out which would be the speaker wires? There doesn't even seem to be enough for a + and - for each speaker?

 

Can anyone shed any light on how exactly i'd wire this up if I took the connector off?

yer your car is the earth..as long as your radio is earthed..by say the a earth wire..then there is no need to run a earth for the speakers..thats how i done mine..and it worked fine..

Doesnt look like there's many speaker wires in there at all, i'd look for more, and check for speakers....

I'd agree with welshpug, have a good look in the dash for another connector as there should be 4 pairs of wire just for the speakers alone

I don't think i've explained it very well - The cable in the picture is coming directly out of the back of the headunit, with no other cabling at all in or around the unit other than the aerial - The wiring in the dash is very different and pretty well marked with 4 x speaker wires pos & neg (though it's been hacked about to install a pioneer unit in the past from the looks of it) - I'm basically trying to figure out how I can wire that into the back of this standard 205 head unit (though i think it's from a lower spec model than a GTI) - I've attached a few more pics below. My plan was to wire this up until I can source the correct standard head unit for the car, but if it's not possible then no worries, I'll just have to put in a less stock looking HU until I can get the right one.

the green wires r the earth speaker wires ..running back to the radio in a loop...
