30Th Birthday. What Toolbox

Recommended Posts

gavbrum

Having the missus bending my ear every 2 seconds about what I want for my birthday has finally got me to look for something.

Quite fancy a toolbox for all the car stuff and seen this.

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_745203_langId_-1_categoryId_255214

With my Halfords trade card i'll get £110 off it and will only have to pay £149.99. For that price is that the best toolbox of that kind out there?

What are you guys using?

Cheers,

Gav

I looked at the halfords pro stuff, but after inspecting a few in store, the runner bearings were already starting to fail! So I went for a clarke one instead, and have no regrets!

Keep your eyes peeled for their vat free days, so can save a fair bit on the price :)

I don't like the halfords ones.

As with any tool, you only get what you pay for...

Are the clarke Black and Gold ones the top of the range ones?

I have a halfords professional roll cab and had it for ten years. Still works a treat :) I used to use it for work until I got a Snap on one. Now it sits in the garage and is used all the time. Given that it is ten years old the newer ones may not be as good quality?

I'm gonna go along to machine mart and have a look.

Cheers for the info.

Seems like the halfords ones, even with the trade discount, are a bit overpriced when you consider a clarkes on is about the same price.

Had mine around 4 years, Still going strong after daily use, Never seen the point of Snap on unless you live in the states where it's cheap

I've been using halfords tools through out my mechanical career and I've found them perfect, and considering they are made by draper.

I didn't rate the halfords professional ones so went for the black halfords industrial ones as you pictured.

Sign up to their mailing list, as I think you will get invited from that. Failing that know any mates in the area who are signed up? I get bombarded with loads of discount codes now Ive bought a few things from them

Craig sent me over a code to use and I've just set up an account so hopefully will get the offers sent through.

Been in today and ordered this bad boy.

Anyone know if there will be any problems using this code or is it just a generic thing?

Cheers,

Gav

I know this may generate a laugh but ive been using smoos stuff for years at work with impact, breaker bars etc and its even outlasted some snap-on and teng stuff and just a few months ago whilst in Holland I purchased a 12 draw cabinet for 90 and its probably the best 90 ive ever spent
