What are your opinions of this type?

As they are the standard ones I have for my XU10 engine, I was thinking of retaining them, but I don't have the battery side of them. (Anyone got some going begging?)

I still have the standard GTI ones, just thought these look neater?

I figured so!

I thought the same, but was trying to convince myself to the contrary....

I fitted a set of the ones Welshpug has pictured on mine when i first got the car and they've been fine :)

Much better than, what i think were, the Saxo screw on fixings the previous owner of mine had fitted (badly).

I've managed to snap a couple if the ones wp has pictured

also found the screws a bit w@nk so put the wires in and filled the rest with solder..

Ditched them when the cast snapped and used the std xu7 I had which I desoldered and resoldered along with a different style negative clamp from my local motor factor

How did you snap them? Its only a pinch bolt barely needs to be done up at all.

I'd go with the red and green screw on ones all day long.

The screws that hold the cable in reek of a bodge to me.

with the screw type you have to be carefull because they are not all the same size screw thread!

i found this out when the battery on my 406 died and i scrapped the battery with the screw thread on it,went to the scrap yard to get a replacement came home to fit it and it was to small.

but once fitted never had a proplem.
