Mi16 Question

Recommended Posts

Mr Teflon

My dear friend.

In your opinion, would this housing/mount fit my vehicle?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-XANTIA-PEUGEOT-405-MOUNTING-BRACKET-RIGHT-NEW-GENUINE-1807A6-/150793726373?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item231c01a9a5

Without prejudice, buyer beware and all that.

Cheers :)

Of course - should anyone else have an opinion on this I'd be grateful.

Not bothered about the bush so much as the housing/mount.

All XU engine mounts (+rear bush) are the same so it will fit a Mi16. Again, that's a good price for a new housing with bush

not all XU mounts are the same, if they have a different gearbox, as per 2.0 turbo, they are different.

also the 205 variants use a different bush hence different part number as they come with the bush already fitted.

1807 47 for the 205 XU and XUD, bush is part # 1809 16

that'll cost you iro £66 from a delaer, but the bush alone is £21.

So it's a saving of £6?

Not great.

Hmmm - I may as well see if my local dealer can get one.

Cheers for the answers guys. My intermediate bearing keeps failing/working loose so I'm going to replace the housing, bearing and bolts (as well as reverting to standard from a Group N bush!)

get a garage to fit an o.e bush (£21+labour, tenner maybe?) into an used housing, £30 saved.

housing above does not come with bolts, however only once have I needed to replace one as a previous person had overtightened the nuts bending the bolt.

We think having the bearing fail so often has damaged the mount and helped to cause bearing failure and round and round.

For the money - I'd happy to replace the whole thing. You know that car has long gone past the point of making economical sense, so nowadays I call it 'Triggers Broom' and simply renew parts, using genuine where possible.

Not looking forward to when that Bendix ABS accumulator fails, nor the master cylinder .........

May I ask why this question was specifically directed at Baz? Do you think he has some sort of mystical super knowledge about engine mounts that are unique to this forum?

I mean no disrespect to Baz in saying this, but it just seemed very odd to me (and somewhat patronising to the rest of the forum members).

No offence intended.

Baz and Welshpug have been very helpful to me on other forums/real life in the past.

And yes, I do think he has a mystical power to know what I mean even when I don't.
