Recommended Posts

I have a friend who has a 106, and he has got oil in radiator reservoir. Md thinks head gasket but I've never worked on a tu just xu.

Any ideas

Yes sounds like head gasket.

Easy on a tu compared to xu just common sense

before going hammer and tongs at the HG, disconnect and bypass the heat exchanger, flush the cooling system, see how it goes.

Why bypass the heater and flush, oh just thought about it and answered my own question. His 106 has the expansion tank next to th rad an the first 20mm was thick sludge.

I had something similar. It was the oilway leaking into the waterway at the front left corner of the engine. Fairly common problem on TUs seemingly, and give away sign is oil dribbling down the block (above the PAS pump).

Only way to sort it is a new HG (I got a Payen HG from GSF and it had a rubber seal for the oilway).
