205 Xs Mpg?

aimed at people running a 205 xs as a daily or have run one

mine is standard 1.4 ally block twin choke carb all thats non standard is the middle box removed and a power flow rear box

 

i worked out my mpg today and its around 25 mpg which i think i terrible

 

what are other peoples mpg's

i am thinking that there may be a leak somewhere though i have checked the lines and cant find anything ovbs

any suggestions

That's way down, even allowing for the current winter weather and impact on fuel economy.

 

I was getting around 38-39mpg from mine easily enough.

i cant seem to work out why its using so much

I used to get over 40 on a run, thats with the xs gearbox! It will certainly be the carb, Rebuilding it is fairly easy, the kits are still available. Setting it up is the tricky bit!

should be closer to 45! i'd check your plugs and see what they say

Mid 30's to late 30's at a push,as said easy enough to rebuild the carbs but need setting up properly

what is the correct way to set them up i have an emissions machine i can plug it onto if that is whats needed

were can you buy the rebuild kits

I was getting 36 mpg.

 

Car was in good raft, 14" wheels 185-50-14 tyres

Full interior.
