205 Xs Prices

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what you all think a White 1990 205 XS with 1.9GTi alloys and near 150k on the clock?

The head gasket has been changed by me at 140k, prior to this the car has full service history from new (showing that the original owner exchanged a sierra for this mighty car).

Any ideas?

From your description no one can make any kind of estimate. Full service history's not worth a wank if it's been written off 3 times and is rotten as a pear.

Put some photos up and a proper description and people may be able to help.

Roughly £600-800, maybe more depending on condition.

Fair point, I was just looking for a ball park figure. There is very little rust on the car and I have replaced a lot of things on it (too many to be honest). I have not run the car in a while as I now have another car.

Not sure if I should keep it as it is getting more rare these days or if I should let it go.

That is really tidy, and that is great price you got it for. It has the auto bonnet fitted, is it an auto?

Those lights might need a little aligning but really nice little motor.

five years ago you could pick up a decent xs for £250 all day long, but the prices are going up and up so I'd hold on to it, its not going to devalue unless you stash it into a tree or summit. so if you've got space and time I'd keep it

I knew they were getting rare but that is good to hear.

I think I might have to put a little bit of money into it to get it up to scratch and then hide it in the garage for a little while. The problem is, if I get it up and running properly then I will want to drive it. They really are fantastic little cars, it was my first car and now that I have moved on to a SEAT Leon I just isnt the same.

Cheers for the advice guys.

Mate thats great value, looks superb.

Just under 2 years ago I paid £500 for mine, faded red paint, but otherwise sound and no mods at all, good bit of history and 80k on the clock.

I've always wanted one after being a passenger in my mates XS. The twin choke carb and short gearbox are an amazing combo. Plus he somehow manages some great mpg.

Rallye arches and 13x7 ford pepperpots:

always wondered what the ford peperpots would look like on a 205. The answer is good!

No it's not an auto

The front lights have been changed now and the wheels are black apart from that it is how I brought it (and a good clean always helps)

they're capri alloys ;)

did they need spacers on the front at all? I just bought some ats classics in 13x6 and they didn't fit over, next though is either slotmags, or 7j pepperpots/7spokes from a capri.

any more piccies?

Looks like jamie_1992 got a bargain there too

No he didn't have to run spacers, all he had to do was bore out the centre hole to pug fitment. Don't have any more pictures of it tbh, it's currently engine-less and he's putting some franken-1.6 engine in.

I've got a set of 13x7s that my mate wants me to shift. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h19/gretsch_drummer/IMAG0579.jpg 2 are in high build primer the other 2 are bright red. (was midway through spraying them for him when he changed his mind, the div)

those wheels look goooood, bought mine back in 09 for the grand sum of £175 (incidently thats the most I've spent buying a car my first car costing £120 i'm a cheap bastard my tools in work are worth way more than both my cars lol) with 107k on the clocks and knackered stem seals, has had a fair amount spent on it since then to make it how I want it but its a great car :)
