They fit fine. we had these with 195 45 15 tyres on them, as any bigger and they would rub on the back of a 'base' model.

OH YES!

 

And they looked good :)

 

back is standard height - front is dropped about 30mm, on 306 gti spax springs

Only ever had 1 fatty in the back, and it didn't rub. It did rub with the 195/55's but as above the clearance is minimal you'd expect that.
