These guys are just west of Edinburgh, not exactly in my back yard but clearly know how to put lipstick on an engine....

Anyone had any dealing with them, opinions, experiences?

I'm considering an alternative to the guy I've been in touch with up north, he doesn't want to help unless I agree to crank / rods / pistons and I didn't really want to open the bottom of the engine.

Thanks puggers

Glad I asked, thanks folks.

If anyone knows of a sensible performance garage in Scotland, or even better near Aberdeen, I'd really appreciate a heads-up.

Thanks gents

what work are you looking to have done?

You'll regret asking that..!

I was originally looking to hit the 250bhp-ish mark, something to frighten the 100k supercars, but keep the car and shell original. Quickly realised that it would be a best to put in a roll cage with power like that and track days just make this more necessary.

So I was looking for an aftermarket ECU, racing cam (currently have fast road cam) and a nice intake manifolds, probably with throttle bodies and a Quaife LSD. Exhaust to suit, strut braces etc etc. Didn't want to go too over-the-top as I have other motors to look after as well.

The guy I spoke to is brand new, but his experience in performance mods is for true rally-prep so not surprisingly he wants to do the crank, rods, pistons and valves before considering adding power. Once priced I was looking at £5k without labour. :(

So I'm a little split on the issues now, even considering another 205 which I could keep semi-original save for Mi16 / Gti6 conv. and pretty it up inside and out, and keep the other car as track only.

As you can see, I don't really know what to do. I could probably buy a pretty special track 205 for less than the £5k so maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way...

It's an Mi16, sorry for not pointing that out. It's quick at the moment, eats Fiesta STs etc for brunch, but I know it aint gonna feel very quick once I hit Knockhill...

Another reason for the power upgrade was to allow a higher final drive, as the 1.6 final drive is driving me nuts but is also responsible for the grin on my face when I'm driving...

I did check these guys out but decided they were more about the bodywork etc rather than raw power - have I called that one wrong? Do you have experience with them or know of any? Cheers!

Presume you mean turbo / supercharger - what else would need to be looked at if I went that route?

ECU

Compression (needs looking at either way)

Very true - problem is I can't stop using the pug until I get the Jag back on the road... so much expense with old motors, why do we do it...

unsure but when i phone he doesnt seem interested in selling parts or tells me all his parts where sold to escortbuffy on ebay wont offer beam rebuilds and seems to do kit cars etc more now. No doubt if you asked for some work to be done he would but certainly IMO not into the 205s as much

I've seen a few of his cylinder heads and they look good and his 106 Gti supercharger conversion kit looks good
