Peter T Stage 1 Inlet And Supercharger?

Recommended Posts

cheesegrater

Hi all im nearing completion of my supercharger (running at 6-8psi) conversion on my xu10j4rs, I ordered a Peter T cam in the group buy and then decided to go down the blown route. Will the inlet cam be abit much on an otherwise standard engine? or would it be fine?

Any one got any hands on experience with this combination?

Cheers!

It will be fine. The GTi6 Stage I grind is still fairly mild, having very similar duration to a standard Mi16 cam. Thus overlap period is still very small.

Could you give an approx Hp increase estimate? I know its abut 'how long is a piece if string' I assume it would be better because its got more time to get charge air in.

just for info and not saying there will be a problem

but rich w who designed the kit tried it with some cams and the std cam always gave the better results

It's all just a function of where you want the power band and how much power you want to make. I'm currently building an XU10J4 engine to take a Rotrex and will be using a lot more camshaft than that.

Ill throw it in and see what happens. I'm running std head and pistons. What's likely to break first?

It's not a rotrex Tom is running. So results could vary

the hp increase you get from the cam will be relative to the quantity of boost you run. It won't be a fixed value. so it will be a percentage at any given rpm

I wouldn't expect any increase tbh. Just playing devil's advocate.

I think no more power, no more torque, 10 more mpg and 1200 more revs.

1200 more revs? Explain

I run to 7800 as it is

I would have thought the management would control the max rpm

I would mount them with vernier pullies, so you can retard the exhaust a little (if needed) to keep mpg down.

But I would start with standard exhaust timing.
