I got my Clio RS through an MOT With a coke can round the exhaust to block a hole. It was only temporary as I was waiting for the replacement to arrive from Italy.

Well....actually....Mercedes actually keep the price of replacement "mascots" deliberately low, as they don't like their cars seen without them!

Used to have a 1975 Mercedes 280CE, & some scumbag in Sables d'Olonne nicked it. New one was around £6.

I have to admit, on a 306 gti6 i wrapped a bean can around the centre section of the exhaust for a few days until a new one was delivered.

Also, when driving through Australia a few years back in a clapped out toyota camry , if i'd have had some string handy, the old string/wiper combo would have been employed after the splines chewed themselves into filings during an unexpected downpour.
