106/saxo Pas Fitting

Recommended Posts

Hello

I have a 106 PAS pump ready to fit to my 205, with a Phase 1 Xsara rack, but was wondering for those who have done it, where have you mounted your pump and what piping have you been able to use, or what pipes have you had made up.

Thanks

Dan

i'm doing the same as you and was going to mount the pump on the n/s inner wing behind the headlamp and for the hose was going to go to my local hydraulics place with the pump and rack and they're going to make up some braided hose with the right fittings for me. It may be possible to utilise standard pipework but that's not an avenue i'm going to explore tbh

I've fitted mine directly under the header tank. It bolts to the bulkhead and for want of a better word the chassis rail.

Mine uses the seperate header tank which I've mounted to the top of the bulkhead/front of scuttle.

Low pressure pipe is easy as that can be rubber hose and jubilees.

High pressure pipe I used the standard 205 pipe and about 8 inches of the 106 pipe, I had a 10 inch length of pipe made up with a 10mm compression fitting on one end (106 end) and an 8mm on the other (205 end).

s*it explanation really, Tom Fenton possibly documented his conversion in his build thread. Although he's a tart and had trick pipes made up. Mine was done with little to no budget, saying that it isn't a Bodge! It's very tidy and has been 100% reliable on my track car.

Depending on what your using the car for you may want to consider a cooler of some sort.

I relocated the battery to the boot and mounted it where the battery would have been...although that was on my 306, but i was using the same saxo pump. I got the pipes made up at a local plant machinery garage for less than £20.

Keep us updated with how you go about it. I think I will be doing the same on mine in a few months so some pics of how you mounted it and what pipes you had made up etc would be useful.
