4x4 style ride height

Rear seats are different

Sills and different

Carpet is different

Built in water feature - roof leaking

Great cars though! I would not mind one for the summer :)

The CTI 1.9 is low compression with a mild camshaft in comparison to the 128bhp GTI 1.9 engine.

115 bhp 1.6, or 105 bhp 1.9, long gearboxes.

Boxes on 1.6 are the same and the 1.9 CTI box is shorter than the 1.9 GTI (but not quite as short as the 1.6)

Smaller valves (39/33mm and 105mm long)

Milder cam (cam duration is 218 deg. @ 0.050" and 0.405" lift on both exhaust and inlet.)

Bigger combustion chamber (therefore lower compression) (49cc)

Small dished pistons (9cc) that sit only 0.001" down the bore

Jetronic not Motronic ECU (for Catted versions)

Different AFM

1.6 sump (with no block strengthener)

The CTI is an XU9J1AZ (DFZ). The GTI is an XU9JAZ (catted versions)
