Gearbox Breather 226830

Recommended Posts

Jez G

I am just putting a new clutch in my phase 1, 1.9 and decided to replace the seals and fittings on the box at the same time. Peugeot sold me the breather bits as on the attached picture but I can find where they go. I think my box is from an MI16 with lower ratios than standard.

Do all gearboxes use these parts or don't I need them?

Thanks Jez

Is your gear pattern layout with reverse next to 1st gear with the lift cable lockout to stop you getting 1st by mistake? If so the two parts you indicate fit on later boxes where the lockout cable fits on your car, or in other words you don't need them.

As Tom says, the diagram you have there is for the BE3 box, yours is likely to be a BE1 (with reverse next to first rather than below fifth). Those two parts you're asking about do not feature on the BE1 diagram.
