ok,

If I understood your post correctly - you're thinking of buying this engine with bodies but without a 3rd party ECU and wondering if it works on either Mi16 ECU and dizzy?

Short answer is no, it won't really run at all. The set up will need proper mapping which a standard ECU can't offer.

Running off a 'mechanical' dizzy is a waste too, better moving to wasted spark set up.

You'll need in addition:

adapt / buy new loom

ECU - DTA / Omex / Emerald

Coil pack

mapping.

A more simple solution would be to put standard cams back in it and then you could run it on the STD Mi16 motronic management setup.

No if I buy it it comes with out bodies or after market ecu which is why I want to know if I can run it on a standard mi 16 dizzy ecu set up

Yes you can then.

I ran my Mi16 with different cams on a standard 3- row ECU for 5 years, it was fine if a little smelly on idle.

Obviously an aftermarket ECU would optimise the set up, hence my current set up.

You'll need all the inlet parts and ignition parts.

It's easier to go 3rd party ECU.

I've got a fuel rail and injectors if you need them, £15.

My old mi16 had fast road cams in and that run fine on standard injection and mi 16 dizzy made good h/power too buy the way sounds a silly question but what's a waisted spark system

If you can buy it with the loom, ecu and bodies I would suggest you do so. Chances are it will be a sandy brown loom, and mapped on either emerald or dta. Granted it will be more expensive but well worth it.

Else wise it's probably worth buying a standard mi16 and fitting that instead.

Why?! It's just a rebuilt Mi with some

mild cams that will happily run on std management, as it did so before going onto the bodies etc iirc.

Didnt he have the 027 cat cams inlet? Or was it the 026?

ive got these nutts 283 deg cams that have so much lift i had to grind meat off the head so they wouldnt foul. Im running these with baker bm pulleys and on completely standard managment and intake (built engine to take ITB's once i save the cash) and it idles solid as a rock and goes like a cut cat. obvioulsy would be better if i had ITB's! only thing you might run into trouble is with all the wiring but if your ripping all the aftermarket stuff out and running 100% factory loom and ignition set up then id say youd be fine... you just wont be pushing 197hp
