Highest Mileage 205...

Recommended Posts

My old cherry red 1.6 got to 265000 on 1 engine, then after putting a turbo engine in it the shell decided it was just made of rust and fell apart! All I have left of my pride and joy is the set of clocks as a reminder.

I would rather not think about how much money the fuel alone has cost me!

I've had my 205 euro rallye since 1991 when it had 6,000kms. It's been garaged since 1994 and only used since then to drive to and from sprints/hillclimbs and it's now at 216,000kms. It's running the original shell, glass, bonnet, boot, doors, dashboard, steering rack, gearbox casing, crownweel, front subframe and beam although it's been rebuilt a few times.

Not as far as Atari - 189583 - no idea what's original to be honest and I doubt the car will make it much further..... 179419 a year ago; I only drive 6 miles into work, with occassional site visits and meetings in Lincoln and York etc so I'm not sure how I manage to rack up the miles!

I'm catching up! Passed 200k a few weeks ago, how I managed 10K miles in 5 months is anyones guess as that works out at around 66 miles a day :o

Pffft. In 2 of my company cars I clocked up 35k a year. That's 95 miles a day including weekends and holidays!!

3 year leases with penalties over 65k. Lol
