Absolutely was not a 'cheap jibe', I am a very laid back person and never get involved in forum politics etc - just slightly irrelevant point to add to this topic.

 

Even more irrelevant point I might add is to buy a 205 as an investment? Must be a long term one!

he was asking for the benefits of both and i think PAS is a benefit to value and driving experiance hence my quote

 

If your doing the car concourse like me and using genuine parts i see it as an investment even if it sits in my farm shed the car can only go up in value

with the waxoyl treatment it got that will be unlikely.... It doesnt get a rain drop on it

My 1st 205 gti, a 1988 phase 1.5 was non pas and my second 1990 phase 2 is pas, much prefer the pas and quicker rack. It's such a good pas too that as said there is still great feel, more than can be said for almost any other pas I've had on other cars.....

Im thinking of keeping it non pas and try it. i can always keep and eye out at the scrap yard and ebay for cheap bits going here and there. get the best of both worlds. How much is a pas steering rack worth?
