Current Tyres

Hi all, it's time to replace the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 tyres on the front of the CTI. What is a good tyre at the moment for winter and summer use? There used to be an excellent thread going for tyres but I can't seem to find it anymore. How are the Falkien ZE-912 or ZE-914 working out for people. I don't need amazing performance as the CTI is more for crawling around in these days.

Seeing as the Falken ZE-914 haven't got many reviews yet I opted for the Uniroyal Rainsport 2. They look very similar to the tread pattern of the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD 3. Only time will tell how they handle and perform but the reviews are promising.

Im going to buy some 914's shortly. Having read up the technical stuffs they're a better 912, and the 912s I had were great.

Been running Falken 912's on my 306 for the last few years & can't fault them so I'll be replacing them with 914's when they wear out.

205's have been on a mixture of tyres depending on the wheels fitted but mostly for any I've used for purely road cars it had Bridgestone Re720's (no longer available) or Goodyear Excellence which surprised me on last years Lakes Tour with how they held up far better than I expected.

being as ever, a bit behind, I asked my old dear to get me a pair of ZE-912's for xmas for the front of mine after reading good reviews on here. I am yet to get them fitted but I've got high hopes :) I suspect if I like them then I'll be going for a pair of the 914s for the other pair of wheels when I need them. Mind you I havent seen any of the 914's in 13" yet, but perhaps 13's arent particularly popular.

185 60 14" is the smallest size Camskill show them in, no other 14"ers.

I was hoping that theyd bring out 914's in 13s so the price of the 912's would go down :P (mind you theyre cheap on camskill as it is)

Toyo proxes on mine and I'm pleased with them an hoping they'll be even better in dryer and warmer. At thirty something quid from camskill I couldn't complain tbh.

unfortunately they don't work so well on a small hatchback, you do need to compare like for like when looking at tyres.

for example for an X300 jag, P6000 is the tyre to use, 225 55 16 iirc, but for anything like a 205 or 306, lethal

We have the Falken Ziex ZE-912 on the 307 with a H&R kit in it and they are fantastic. Nice and quiet with good grip in both the wet and dry. The have a softer sidewall than the Dunlop sportmaxx's we had on before these but the grip is about the same.

They seam to be wearing well after 6 months. I would highly recommend them to others.
