Thermostat Coolant Block Off Cap

Recommended Posts

John_B

At the moment I'm using half a sparkplug to block off one of the coolant outlets on the thermostat of my Mi.

I'll be draining the coolant soon and I'm looking for something more permanent. What do people use?

You can get various size silicone blanking caps on ebay, I've got one on my expansion tank.

As said above, just use an 8v thermostat cap since they only have one outlet for the main top hose. Thats how i did mine.

Thanks for that everyone.

The outlet is around 11mm. So according to ebay it's £15 for the full on samco or £3 for a cheapy....

Pug do one that is 11mm and cost around £3. I use they quite a bit and think they are much better than silicone ones. I may have a spare. I will check on monday.
