Mi16 Std Injectors

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

How much will the std 1.9 injectors be able to deliver in terms of horsepower? Are the 2.0 ones bigger?

Thanks

They have a different flow rate afaik so max power for each one (without altering the injection period in the ecu) will be different.

This topic has some extra info which might help.

Im sure i correctly read that the 1.9 mi injectors flow well enough for 185bhp - the 2.0 struggle for that. The gti6 items are far superior due to their spray pattern - 230ish bhp.

Depends if you're in sequential or multipoint mode. The 2.0L S16 injectors are only 196cc from memory, but because they fire sequentially, there's only one dead injector period per engine cycle. An Mi16 fires in multipoint, so there's two injector dead times per cycle. I have Mi16 injectors (214cc) in my warm 2L engine fired sequentially and there's more than enough injector time to over fuel it. It's probably around 180-185hp.

Tanks guys,

I am building throttle bodies onto my mi16. The aim is 230+ and therefore the std injectors is not enough.

Is the gti6 injectors enough for 230+ hp NA? In some of the tuning sites it seems that 300 cc injectors is minimum if you want 230 NA.

Anyone have any experience on max hp on std mi 16/gti6 injectors?

GTi6 injectors 'outperform' their 'cc' because of their spray pattern. I think Ash (rallyeash) is using gti 6 injectors and running circa 230bhp.
