Fuel Filter Washer Sizes 1.6Gti

Recommended Posts

DanRM

I've bought 2 fuel filters from my 2 local motor parts and both had no washers what so ever and the previous ones had split, I found some that looked to fit but they still leaked, looking at the filters the wholes are countersunk rather than recessed a little like the original.

Went to my local Peugeot dealer this morning to get a genuine filter and they said the washers come separate have to wait till tomorrow afternoon for the filter (£27), and bottom washers, but the top washers I have to wait till the 6th of January before they're delivered. So my best option is to buy a set from somewhere else. So could anyone tell me the copper washer size (internal and external) for the fuel filter for the top banjo connector please.

Cheers

I remember struggling to find them from any other source than Peugeot due to the strange sizes so they sit into the recess on the filter.

Unfortunately the sizes aren't shown on service box either.

If you still have the old ones you can re-cycle them as an emergency measure by heating them on a gas ring until red hot & letting them cool naturally to anneal them again.

I think I ended up buying a bag of each washer from Peugeot, as they wouldn't split the bag for me. If you can wait a day or so, while I find them, you can have a pair for a little more than the cost of a stamp :) Send me a pm if I forget.

Thanks for the offer but no need now. Called into another dealer a few miles away this morning and they were happy to help, they took a set of washers from something else in the stores and couldn't be bothered to find the price so he just gave them me. Will be going to that one instead from now on I think. Lets just hope they'll stop the leaks

I ended up annealing the old washers as the new ones wouldn't seal, after annealing the old ones sealed first time!
