Well not proven but hopefully.... but if a 16v vw engine, or mitsubishi can get 900+ then i cant see why a XU can't 4bar boost and some metanol, or get hold of som toluene?

i dont understand why we are talking about a justy or a swift

I recon the 405 t16 setup might take quite a bit of abuse!! Has anyone blown the transfer box to bits on one???

lol were talking about a justy/swift due to me

it was just a thought of getting a 4wd system in a 205 while keeping it standardish.

i seem to have opened a whole can of worms now :blink:

surely the golf isnt running a std 4wd system anymore

its not the standard 4wd from that car, but mostly is stock with strengthened components from later cars, 4 speed dog sequential kit inside a VW 02M gearbox casing.

Or add Evo 4wd drivetrain to Constella's Evo-engined 205 - and you're much closer to that Golf, but arguably it's not really a Pug any more.

this has always been my opinion! if its made from parts from the peugeot parts bin to me it remains a peugeot but using other manufacturers engines and running gear dilutes things to a hybrid

so my theory could work then, granted with more expenditure but thats the joys of making insanely powerful small motors :)

I don't get why using non-peugeot components "dilutes" a project, that like the Aussie blinkered ford/holden arguments

oh, and there's a Haldex system under many a Volvo BTW, can;t imagine them being a million miles apart from the 4motion Haldex stuff...

Subaru justy 4x4, built for 60hp that wont fit, or a T16 Setup where the box bolts straight on, built for 200+hp but still breaks.

What would be the best?

T16 doesn't just "bolt on" you've got the rather large issue that it doesn't bolt straight into anything other than a 4x4 405, and that's just the front end.

Yeah, I think we should move on from the Swift/Justy stuff now :)

What about an old 3rd gen Civic 4WD system?

I agree. That's the beauty of turbo charging. Technology has progressed so much in recent years (with regards to engine management, components and materials) that stupidly big numbers are common place now. I'm being blasé about it, but it's almost literally a case of slinging a turbo on that can produce enough boost to make the numbers you want. Obviously there's more to it than that, but if you can build an XU strong enough to handle the boost, then it should be no different to any of these other 4 bangers that are making ~1000bhp.

EXACTLY!

Im pretty sure the T16 box bolts straight to a xu10 or even to any XU engine?!

The hydro clutch, gear cables, and mounts are simple enought to fit!

What have i missed???
