Quick Question About A Non Starter

Ok so it's a standard 1.9 phase 1.5 it ran and started fine except it had a misfire/hesitation at 3k revs so bought a coil and amp off baz fitted them and car would not start at all. I opened the bonnet and realised I had not connected the earth's to the metal plate which the coil and amp fit onto. So done that and still wouldn't start could I have flooded the engine with earth off? I ie leave it a bit n it should start or could it be something bad (bloody hope not)

Have you had it running properly before, or is it a new car that did this when you got it? What does it do when you try and start the car - no response, turns over but doesn't fire, won't catch etc

 

I would double check all your connections and wires for breakages, I'm not familiar with this problem but it's always a good place to start.
