If you have a bottle, try a local welding/fabrication company, they might be able to swap for a full one for a small fee. I could've done that but i don't have a bottle and they are hard to get as they are rented from BOC hence me using Adams gas.

BOC charges are well excessive! The prices gave climbed yearly since I've been with them

I've paid the same circa £40 a year for the last 3 years or so? But then i did take it out originally with a special offer...

agreed, BOC are very expensive (around £80/year i think and they even charge you if you want to collect from them!), especially for the occasional welder and those small disposable bottles are a waste of money.

If you check the mig welding forum, there's a 'volkszone' offer that everyone is getting excited about but i don't know too much about it. Think it's an agreement with BOC that's been setup to give you discount on a rental etc. Worth a look at least as may be worthwhile for your needs.

That's the offer that i did, big size Y bottle of Argoshield lite, and has been £40pa thus far, not too bad but still pisses me off tbh, would rather try and get my own bottle.

I got the 9L co2/argon from adams gas, think you pay £55 for the bottle and thats yours to keep can sell on or what ever or give it back for a refund, and when its run out you just swap it for another for £33

Yes that is what we are doing now, there is a retailer 1.2 miles from my house, how long does it last you?

You'll probably get a couple hours out of it i reckon. I use mine occasionally (once a week) and have had the gas since summer and there's still alot left
