Gutman Wheels, 309 Running Gear?

Recommended Posts

Carbs4me

Just a quick one!

Will my 205 which already has a 309 rear axel fitted, will the gutman wheels fit or will it cause massive problems sure my axel is lowered by 30mm too!

Cheers

Depends on the wheel width and offset basically, but if they're 7" with an offset bigger than about 10 or so, yes you'll have issues on the rear.

Makes perfect sense, they're 7x15" with an offset of 18!

If they're the ones i think they are, he wants far too much money for them.

Look like the same ones yes! They'll fit but i think even if you ran skinny/low profile tyres they'd eat the arch trim!

Are yours actually the same rims though Josh? i might be wrong but i though they were Exip's and had a ford offset etc?

The rims are identical but just the wrong offset, as i'm using the adaptors they should be balancing out from ET38 down to ET18.

Ahh i see, that confirms my thoughts about the EXIP's being identical but the Guttman ones just being 'rare' for the namesake then?!

Pretty much, it's just the centre caps which are different. I have heard about an 8J version in the correct fitment but never seen them anywhere.

iirc you can't fit big brakes under these wheels either but I don't have any experience with that.

Were Gutmann the same to Peugeot as AMG is to Mercedes, Alpina is to BMW?

Sort of yes!

You spelt it correctly too, unsurprisingly! :P I always mix it up!

These exips look like they have tons of caliper space, far more than a rwd ford fit TH :/

I told him earlier they were far too overpriced.

I wouldnt give more than £150 for them ... with tyres :|

By the looks of it the guy is a moron.

I have read his posts on Facebook. He is a grade A moron indeed.

He also needs a triple slap combination for his grasp of the English language.

Proper 205 Gutmann Exip wheels should be 7 x 15 ET 13, though they sold a huge range in all different sizes. Those pictured above look like the later dished type and these seemed to be more ET18 than ET13

They are ET18. And yes I have to agree with above, but of a pleb.

I am with Baz on this one. I look after a car that has Gutmann wheels and a 205 beam. I would not fit a 309 beam on that car.
