Auto Driveshaft

Hi all, just had a peek under my car cause it looked like i had a plastic bag melted onto my downpipe. Turned out I did, and it is now removed, but while looking have spotted that the driver side CV boot is knackered and barely attached. On some French cars its a new driveshaft job, was wondering if its the same with 205s; can I get away with just replacing the boot? Also are the driveshafts the same as manual cars?

Cheers for any advice

Afaik they are like 1.9 shafts, miles will know, if they are you can change the boots easily, also the outer cv is replaceable if needs be.

The 1.6 auto Mardi Gras I stripped earlier this year had the same driveshafts as the 1.6 GTI & diesel models which are one piece shafts but the boots are still easily replaced with a stretching cone or similar tool.

I'm not saying a word here, the 1.6 shaft I tried to fit on mine was too long, Re-fitted the old one and never looked since

I looked at the model of car Daniel had & his validation topic said Mardi Gras auto so I'd like to think they would be the same as those I removed from my mums old one (same model) earlier this year, obviously taking previous owners into account it might be different & thats what should be fitted according to service box.
