Exhaust, What Do You Make Of This?

I've just been to collect a big box of s*it that I bought for a few quid on eBay. In amongst it all was this exhaust pipe, it looks modded to me, obviously it has a lambda probe boss on it, but I wonder why? And do you think it looks shortened/re-angled to you?

 

I have nothing to compare it to at the moment.
