Low Engine Tempreture.

Recommended Posts

Strange one this.

If car is sat idling the engine tempreture and water tempreture will go up to about 90 degrees.

However, once I set off the tempreture drops down to about 70 degrees.

Obviously this has an effect on the air blower tempreture in the car.

Thinking back to the olden days. Is it worth putting silver foil over the radiator to keep out the cold air and help the engine stay warm.

Any other suggestions are very welcome.

Regards.

Replace the thermostat if it's not holding temperature on cruise - they're cheap as chips.

Covering the radiator is a bodge and nowhere near as effective as a working 'stat.

Cheers Anthony.

Silly question time. Where do I find it?

Cheers.

Follow the top radiator hose back towards the engine. You'll find an outlet secured by two 13mm bolts - behind that is the thermostat.
