Airbox Bracket Bolt Size?

Recommended Posts

350wedge

Quick question chaps....

The bolts that attach the standard airbox bracket to the exhaust manifold....

Am I right in thinking these are M7 in size? Just fitting a new airbox with bracket but the bolts are missing from the manifold..

Many thanks :)

M6 according to Servicebox.

I've tried M6 and they just drop straight into the hole!! The top mount on the end of the box is M6 but the manifold holes are bigger. They are not M8 though as I have those and are too large...

They are M6, but quite often the threads in the manifold are u/s. You could carefully helicoil them back to M6.

No I got a refurbished airbox which came with an intact bracket. The bracket and box are powdercoated so that should keep me going for now. If I need another I have the old bracket which I can copy at work and fabricate a new one :)

Quick update to this....

Have got hold of some nice shiny new M7 bolts and they fit perfectly into the manifold where there bottom two bracket holes are....

The bolt hole at the top of the engine is an M6 but the manifold bolts are M7

:)

If you can find a stainless M7 bolt then yes, Brass is just as good but again the size buggers it up
