Replacing A Cti Hood

Recommended Posts

john-melbourne

HI Guys,

My hood has gone on my CTI, i have seen one in good condition complete with the frame, and headliner. How easy is this to replace as a full on swap, instead of just replacing the hood?

Dead easy to swap one frame for another. Rear seats out, seatbelts off, inner panels off, rear window unzipped, metal bar unbolted, 3 bolts per side and off it comes :)

I've done this myself twice

Just make sure it's the right frame, Manual and Leccy are different

Takes about 3hrs from experience - just make sure the weather forecast is good if you are outside just in case!

Are any specialist tools required to complete the job?

No, just socket set, pliers and screwdrivers. A Haynes talks you through the whole process, correctly for once too.

Just bought it :) It was the one on Ebay with the frame, headlining and rear window. Just got a 400 round trip to Wiltshire to pick it up tomorrow! Anyone know if it will fit in the back of a polo with the back seats down? :)

Yes it will John as mine went in the CTI with seats down no problems and a Polo is far bigger.
