New Orange Indicator Lenses

Recommended Posts

Has anyone with earlier orange indicators bought new ones from Carparts4less or the likes?

I am looking at these:

http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/c/Peugeot_205_1.9_1989/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/lighting1/indicator/?473735130&1&a79ac58e45b30120f175118151c9a029e14bd78e&000201

To replace mine as 1 has a slight crack in it which frustrates me although nobody else would probably notice it. Obviously I'd do the pair together.

In the library photograph the units look a very opaque orange.

I don't really fancy them if they look very pattern on the vehicle.

If anyone has bought some, and would have pics of their car with them fitted I would be intrigued to see it.

I'll have a nosey on service box later at the price of OEM ones (if available) for a comparison, although I expect the prices are laughable.

The picture does look very much like a non cloudy original item.

I'd try and get some second hand ones and polish them.

They're only about £13 from pug btw.

Don't buy them they are made by OWL and look terrible. The wrong shade of orange.

I got a set of the headlights from there though, and they are pretty good.

Never knew you could still get them from Pug? Worth a try.

Bingo. Glad I was sceptical.

Too bright and clear would annoy me more than cloudy originals with a tiny stress mark.

I will go on service box later on and dig the numbers out for you farmer, thanks for your help.

I bought these for my phase 1 CTI from carparts4less and they are spot on for very little outlay.

They are exactly like the ones I had on it but they are shiny!

I have no experiance with these but have with patern lights on other cars and theyre never like the oem imo.

if you your lights to look like new have you considered machine polsihing them and replacing the seals..?

EDIT: read again to see you have a crack, id get a second hand oem pair and refurb them personally.

I don't have one to hand but I can't tell the difference and I am a bit picky on things like this. The only difference is the shine compared to the 25 year old dull and slightly mouldy original lenses.

I can try to take one at the weekend if the weather is OK.

I have OWL branded indicators on both my cars, bought both sets brand spankers and they are decent.

They look ideal to be honest, thanks for posting that.

I was just fearing a really bright, opaque orange where the bulb is overly visible and just show marks terribly.

Its been so long since I saw my other car I couldn't really tell you... that car doesn't have bulbs... or wiring for lights...
