Where abouts are you?

Most counties have a group with meets once a month, probably best joining PSOOC.

Erm York being my nearest city but don't mind a little drive every now and then. :)

I do hope to drive to Belgium for the F1 next year. Down to Dover and though France. nice little road trip.

Full 10 years of daily drive with my cherry red 205 :) .. never let me down all this years .

When you replace/refresh all the worn bits and bobs , you'll get an great fun to drive and reliable car . Either of the two 1.6 or 1.9 8v the mechanics is bulletproof , when maintained correctly this engines will go for very long time ..

They're easy to DIY , and parts are still available (bar the body panels/segments which are mostly out of production .. however non OE parts can be sourced with regards to the bodywork ..)

My commute involves to much motorway driving, however I have used it as a daily driver in the past and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Echoing everyone's comments, proactive maintenance on any 25 yr old car is key: most of all, enjoy it!

Once you get used to de-icing the inside of the windows as well as the outside you'll be fine :D

Yep got the rear brakes done so went for a little drive and such. Did enjoy wiping the inside of the front window every 2 mins until it got warm.

Where/what is this mobile app? I did look in the app store but couldn't find it.

i use my 205 gti1.6 as my daily and dont have any reliabilty issues at all as long as i do all the regular maintenance and checks :)

and have driven from lancashire to kent and back 3 times this year as well as daily journeys.

i have owned 3 205 gti's ( 2 1.6's and a 1.9 ) over the years and know them pretty well so i suppose that helps.

i also agree with whats previously been said in that driven gently a 205 gti will give very reasonable mpg although nowhere near a recently manufactured car.

already been mentioned is the high gearing on the 1.6 which makes for noisy cruising but its not unbearable by any means.

the main issues with a 205 these days is parts availability as so much is nfa at peugeot dealerships but with a great comunity of enthusiastic owners at this forum we can all keep ours cars on the road for many years to come :D

so welcome to the forum and i look forward to you posting pics of your car and hearing of any progress you make.
