Mk5 Fiesta Gearchange Into 205

anyone attempted this, i have a fiesta zetec s gear change mechanism and linkage as i kept it for spares. anyway which i could mod this to fit and work well, its a nice smooth change that's why i wanted to try it. ?

Decent replacement rods, linkages and bushes will improve the feel no end.

think ill give it a bash, really hate the 205 gearchange , changed the rods and stuff still fels crap. be worth the conversion . anyone got some tips for how to do it. ?

Why bother? when you can just fit fiesta parts and mod them to no longer be designed to work in a ford with specific gearboxes, to work with a 205 with mostly bowls of porridge instead...

its quite easy - just cut the fiesta bits to look like a 205 gear rod set, then fit them!

 

alternatively have a search for improving the 205 gearchange feel!

yeah rods is easy, im actually on about the gearstick inside the car aswell . change the whole thing over .

just replace like £2 of bushes in it, or buy a satchshift

You can have the new bushes & rods but if the subframe ball pivot is loose, you'll never improve it.

I have modified 306 gearstick and linkages in my 205. It works surprisingly well considering the mastermind behind it. One thing you have to accept, that there is always looseness in the 205 gear change because there is some play inside the gearbox.
