Next question will they fit in an 8v block? And will they raise compression enough for a vtr head

In theory, but the rods are pretty feeble and I wouldn't trust them past about 7500rpm.

It would be for my road car so no mental revving just a bit quicker, got a set at work you see and was working a theory.

Could I put those pistons on my rods, vtr head, rallye inlet manifold and management? And it work, or would it still not raise the compression enough with the 1600 head on

Press fit pins mean changing the rods without damaging the pistons is virtually impossible, plus these rods are much longer than normal, so no basically. Not much different CR wise to using 1.4 XSi pistons, but chopping and changing inlets etc on standard management is never going to work very well.

So the rods are too long to use in the 8v block, that's a shame well you don't know till you ask ha ha.

I'll stick with a spi

No mate its a gtx so in monopoint and I want rid of the sh*t system I'm tempted to 16v but there's something about 8v's.

Lad at work has got a c4 with the 1400 16v and the head is buggered was hoping to pop the pistons in and put a 1600 head on so I get a bit of pony power and a modern injection system

The 2000> 1.4s all had long rods and short pistons, which are the same height as pre 2000 overall, but you can't mix them.
