Gti Parts On An Xs

im putting a gti subframe, arms, hubs and struts on my 1.4 xs and need to know if the shafts will fit the gti hubs

if not what shafts do i need

also shall i use original xs rack or a gti rack

The xs shafts will fit, providing that your new hubs are 1.6 gti.

PAS gti racks are slightly quicker lock to lock than non PAS ones so it wouldbe worthwhile if it is a PAS one that you have - just fit it and blank off the holes for the pipes. Although you will have to check that the knuckle on your steering column is the correct fitment for the new rack.

The gear change L bracket location on the sub frame is in a different place on XU cars so you need to move it. ie cut and weld.

If you don't have 1.6 hubs, just use your xs hubs. As stated already you will have to move the L bracket on the GTi subframe. I'm also not sure if a PAS rack will fit. I'm fairly sure it fouls by the L bracket
