Mi16 Clutch Kit Cheapness...

Recommended Posts

ORB

I have been gathering up parts to put a GTi-6 in my 205 for a few weeks and I needed a clutch.

On ECP they have a cheap one - http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Citroen_BX_1.9_1990/p/car-parts/car-transmission/clutch-and-associated-parts/clutch-kit/?641545401&1&a9b5ceae2cf92aa9c86c99f3edb3042b65b1578a&000069

However they are offering 25% off clutch kits at the moment. If you go to add the code CLUTCH25 to this clutch it wont give the discount as it is under the qualifying price.

BUT

If you add the code PARTS25 to the order you get the discount, thus giving the clutch at a total price of £37.75 including a 2 year warranty.

Got to be worth it?

Just thought I would share.

Ta

xxx :)

The transmech units get some bad press online, with some failing prematurely. Damo has one in his car and has done a couple of thousand miles without anything negative to say about it.

Personally I prefer to pay for a decent brand for piece of mind.

Miles

Valeo are really the only ones to use, Buy cheap buy twice even if it has a warranty they need to go thru the motions before accepting any liability for it, Plus it's a 3 hour job you could do without when or if it fails

As Dan has mentioned I purchased a Transmech one not knowing the difference really way back when collecting parts for my gti6 conversion. Not noticed anything wrong with it and almost 4 K on it now. To be honest Id spend the cash to be safe really as I know Stefans is slipping now! Guess I'll find out in a year as I'll be around 8k miles on it then :(
