New Motor... Gone Jap!

well.... ive always liked my mates Impreza and when he talked about maybe selling it earlier this year i told him to give me first refusal on her. a few K lighter and i am now the proud owner.

Some of you may have seen it before at combe when he's come along with us but as a brief spec its a 1997 Impreza 2dr type R in yellow, fitted with a 2.5 engine to the following specification. Built by Penine subaru, Cosworth tripple plate head gasket, Cosworth Pistons and rods, Arp rod bolts, Version 9 nitrated crank, uprated oil pump, Type R heads with solid shim lifters, 3 angle valve seats, skimmed head, 600cc lateral performance injectors, Apexi power FC ecu with Commander, 3" stainless system, exedy organic clutch. 400 Lbft and 370hp...

Its alot of fun and feels a world away from the 205! sunstrips been removed since this picture and i plan to take it to work on saturday and use the heatgun to take off a few other decals to make it look abit cleaner.

ive got a set of P1 wheels that are currently being refurbed with new Michelin tyres, crystal lights to fit, will spend some time or money getting it detailed and a few other small mods to do.

future plans maybe, 6 speed box, bigger turbo and replace the top mount to a FMIC.

and the new company car which ive just had replaced.

Isuzu DMax, 2.5 twin turbo, 6 speed

nah will keep the spoiler thats on there. wana keep it abit subtle, well as much as a yellow impreza can be!

cant wait to get the refurbed P1 OZ/prodrive wheels on there either.

certainly is fun, in reality i dont think upto 80 there is that much in it between the 205... power to weight isnt much difference. although with over twice the torque of the 205 over 100 is where the impreza comes alive!
