Broken Trip Counter

Just bought a J reg 1.6 and have noticed that the trip will not reset, nor does it move.

 

Is this a known fault or is it a new clock set? I'm presuming I can't separate the mileometer to put in a new clock set?

Had this on mine try quickly flicking the button and it might reset if not new speedo as they are made not to be taken apart to stop people clocking.

Quite common, you can just replace the speedo section.
