they look rather large, the fuel tank ones are 27mm Dia, they look about 40 or 50mm?

I think they'll be for the leading edges of the rear bumper at the back of the rear wheelarch.

part number 6946 62.

when I removed the rear bumper it had no fixings at either end not even on the bumper it-self, both of the mounting panels had rotted away. They must be from some other place Just dont know were.

Just to add, They are fairly thick about 5mm with 8mm hole. The car has been totaly stripped so its possible they could be from anywere, its so annoying.

Could they have been used for the rear beam shock mounts?

When the rear bump stops on my car fell off, the bit that remained kind of looked like this. Kind of.

From all the 205's I have worked on, I can't say I renamber any washers that size.

But not long ago I did some work on my old man's saxo, and the rear beam does have washers around that size.

I agree with this. I saw the remnants of a bump stop and what was left was a rather large washer.

The bump stop cups have a water hole in them and these dont so it must either be a wrong replacement for the tank or similar. The fuel tank washers has rubber on them and are smaller.

I'm going for bumper retaining fitment as well. Maybe even retro-fitted for the front ones, but the leading edge of the rear sounds a better idea. They're certainly not the rear bump stop cups, that's for sure.

Can't say I've seen any similar on any of my pugs so it could be difficult to find where they came off.

No, they are too small with an 8mm hole.
