Why Do We Call 205 Gti6's? (Unless They Have A 6 Speed Box)

What ever happened to "205 gti with a ...."

 

So much easier than labels..

The Dutch have gone round that issue by traditionally calling them 205 RFS.

 

That way it's designated solely by its engine. For those in the know anyway.

 

Or 205 RS perhaps?

I refer to mine as a 205 VTS... usually followed by a blank look from whoever I mention it to.
